The attached garage parking, ramps down from the alley to partially below grade, is attached to the house, and enters through the lower level - so this garage roof deck is an unencumbered extension of the  home's family room and main floor. The rooftop planter  is kept low at its front for maximum spatial extension, and builds up toward the alley to accommodate a two-ton, twenty-foot tall arborvitaes tree, installed to mask a utility pole and associated equipment near the corner of the property.
